COVID-19 - New guidance (as of 11.01.2022)

1st January 2022

Confirmatory PCR tests to be temporarily suspended for positive lateral flow device (LFD) test results for asymptomatic adults and children.

Asymptomatic adults and children.

From Tuesday 11th January, confirmatory PCR tests following a positive lateral flow device (LFD) test result are to be temporarily suspended. This will mean that anyone who receives a positive LFD test result will be required to self-isolate immediately and will not be required to take a confirmatory PCR test.

Please be reminded that your child MUST have two consecutive negative LFD test results (24 hours apart) from day 6, prior to returning to school i.e. negative day 6 (7.00am) and negative day 7 (7.00am).  If tests are carried out before school hours on both days and show negative, your child may return to school on the 7th day.

Symptomatic adults and children.

A PCR test is still required if you or your child are displaying symptoms of COVID-19.
