Enrichment is a major strength of Linthorpe Primary School. At LCPS, every child has the chance to access enriching experiences, through a variety of ways. Inspiring and knowledgeable visitors, sport, music, drama, art, community projects and educational visits all promote pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. Our residential and overnight visits for Year 5 and 6 pupils, where they enjoy adventurous team-building activities, help them develop confidence, resilience and independence.
We plan for our lessons and extra-curricular activities to be broad and enriching. In addition to this, we organise special events, themed curriculum days and family events to enrich our pupils’ lives and challenge them to aspire to be people who leave a mark on the world. We call this National Curriculum + to reflect the extent to which the LCPS curriculum goes above and beyond the statutory requirements.
At LCPS, we offer a steel pans music club at lunchtime for pupils. We have developed links with the community whereby pupils can develop their interest outside of school by joining a local steel pan group.
Instrumental lessons (currently viola) are offered by a peripatetic music teacher who visits the school each week. There is a charge for viola lessons. Please visit the school office for further details.
