Non-Uniform Day WRW - June 2018

21st June 2018
NON-UNIFORM DAY FOR WORLD REFUGEE WEEK

On Friday 22nd June we will be holding a special day to raise awareness of World Refugee Week as well as to celebrate all of the diverse culture the Linthorpe Community Primary School has to offer.

We would like children to dress in  traditional dress from any culture or alternatively a football strip from one of the many countries taking part in the world cup. There will be no charge for the change of uniform for the day but we instead intend to celebrate the heritage and cultures of all of the children who attend the school.

World Refugee Week takes place from 18th to 24th June 2018. Refugee week takes place every year across the world in the week around World Refugee Day on the 20th June. In the UK, Refugee Week is a nationwide programme of arts, cultural and educational events that celebrate the contribution of refugees to the UK, and encourages a better understanding between communities. For further information please visit http://refugeeweek.org.uk Throughout the week children will learn about and partake in activities linked to Refugee Week within their classes.

We really look forward to seeing the diverse outfits!
