Designated Team

At Linthorpe Community Primary School, the safety, health and wellbeing of every member of our community is our highest priority. We are committed to enabling all pupils to thrive academically, socially and emotionally, and to achieve their full potential.

Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do and is everyone’s responsibility. Our approach is underpinned by robust policies and procedures, strong governance and trustee oversight, rigorous safer recruitment practices, and an experienced Designated Safeguarding Team. Through regular training and a culture of vigilance, all staff are equipped to recognise concerns, respond appropriately and take timely action to protect children from harm and promote their welfare.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children means:

Providing help and support to meet the needs of children as soon as problems emerge
Protecting children from maltreatment whether that is within or outside the home, including online
Preventing impairment of children’s mental and physical health or development
Ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care
Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes

This team is also responsible for ensuring that the welfare of pupils is paramount across all aspects of the schools work.
