Enrichment is a major strength of Linthorpe Primary School.

Personal development and character building are a continual focus for us at LCPS and are at the core of all that we do.

At LCPS, we have strategically planned and structured our extensive personal development curriculum and extra-curricular activities so that pupils have access to a wide, rich set of experiences. There are many opportunities for pupils to develop their personal talents and interests across our school. All of this considerably strengthens our school’s offer, with a particular focus on preparing our pupils for future success in the next step of their education.

Our Key Drivers
Enrichment

At Linthorpe,  we operate a unique National Curriculum+ model where enrichment, opportunity and talent development meet academic rigour.

Every child has the opportunity to access a range of experiences, through a variety of ways. Inspiring visitors, sport, music, drama, art, community projects and educational visits all promote pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.

Our extra-curricular activities programme is extensive and gives pupils the opportunity to develop their passions and interest. Through special events, themed curriculum days and family events we enrich our pupils’ lives and challenge them to aspire to be people who leave a mark on the world.

We call this National Curriculum + to reflect the extent to which the LCPS curriculum goes above and beyond the statutory requirements.

Character Journey

Each half term pupils revisit a different Character theme as part of our assembly programme – 4Cs and a K: Courtesy, Co-operation, Courage, Consideration and Kindness.

We believe that Linthorpe School is a special place with pupils and staff who do whatever it takes to make everyone’s time at school the best time of their lives. The character journey is strategically planned and delivered across the year as part of our assembly programme as well as being embedded throughout our curriculum, our ‘Fantastic 50 Things’, our MAGICAL habits, our talent development programme and our first-rate Personal Development offer to give all pupils explicit teaching and opportunities that will allow them to develop as learners and as people.

Our ambition is that by the time our pupils leave school, they will be recognisably Linthorpe.
