Ofsted

The school was inspected in March 2024. We are delighted that the school was judged to be OUTSTANDING. The report states that, “Linthorpe Community Primary School is an inspirational and thriving school. Pupils feel safe here. They have high ambitions for themselves. Staff are aspirational for pupils’ achievement. They nurture pupils from the moment they arrive at the school. Pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), have excellent attitudes to learning. They succeed in all areas of the well-designed curriculum.”

Following rigorous scrutiny, every aspect of our practice has been evaluated as outstanding. This is a significantly challenging standard to reach, with only 4% of primary schools nationally achieving this outcome last year.

Our pupils’ knowledge, behaviour, attitudes to learning and contributions to the school community completely overwhelmed the inspection team, who described our pupils’ conduct as ‘exemplary’.

The outcome of this inspection is testament to the sheer hard work, dedication, expertise and relentless drive for improvement at LCPS, which I’m sure you will agree is consistently demonstrated by our wonderful staff team. Our ‘precisely defined, ambitious curriculum’ is exceptional, but inspectors recognised that the first class offer at LCPS goes beyond education. Our ‘remarkable’ range of experiences and opportunities to develop talents, interests and character coupled with our commitment to nurturing every single child from the moment they start, is what we pride ourselves on and we are so grateful that this has been highlighted by the inspection team.

As a school committed to enhancing the lives of the vibrant and diverse Linthorpe community we serve, to hear that children ‘love coming to school’ and that they describe LCPS as a ‘Once in a lifetime opportunity’ warms our hearts and completely fulfils our moral purpose.
