Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Computing)

Required for September 2026

Job Title                         HLTA

Salary:                            Grade G Points 12-15 Actual Salary £23373 – £24539 (pay award pending)         

Hours:                            Full time/Part Time/Flexible but must be able to work a minimum of 4 afternoons per week

Contract Status:         Permanent

We are inviting applications from suitably qualified, enthusiastic and motivated candidates to join our team of experienced and highly professional staff.

The role of HLTA for Computing is a key position within our school, focused on delivering high-quality computing teaching across all primary year groups.  We are looking for a dedicated and confident practitioner who can inspire children in Computing and work closely with the Computing lead to ensure a progressive, exciting curriculum offer.

The successful applicant will:

  • Teach Computing lessons across school, following our curriculum and ensuring progression from Y1 – Y6.
  • Deliver high‑quality learning experiences that build children’s digital literacy, programming skills, online safety awareness and understanding of technology.
  • Work across a range of year groups, adapting approaches to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs.
  • Provide other classroom support as needed, supporting and covering in other curriculum areas where appropriate.
  • Contribute to planning, assessment and the wider development of Computing across LCPS in collaboration with the computing lead.

The successful applicant must have:

  • Relevant experience/proven track record of teaching and learning
  • Strong subject knowledge in Computing, including confidence with coding, digital media, online safety, and common educational software/hardware.
  • Excellent curriculum knowledge and be able to secure successful learning for all, including those with a range of additional needs.
  • Good inter-personal skills and the ability to lead, motivate and inspire others.
  • High personal and professional standards.

Salary:                            Grade E Points 6-7 Actual Salary £19723 – £20037 (pay award pending)  

Hours:                            32.5 hours per week, term time only
                                          8.30am-3.30pm

Contract Status:         Permanent

We are inviting applications from suitably qualified, enthusiastic and motivated candidates to join our team of experienced and highly professional staff. The successful candidate will be supporting the work of the teachers within whole class sessions and will be expected to deliver small group support and interventions as well as occasional whole-class cover.

The successful candidate must:

  • have experience of working with children in a school learning environment
  • demonstrate a good understanding of the primary curriculum
  • have a positive approach to developing relationships with pupils
  • have experience of working flexibly and successfully within a range of teams
  • be fully committed to ensuring the best possible outcomes for all pupils.

                                           1 x One year fixed in the first instance

The successful candidate will support high-quality teaching and learning, helping to create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.

  • demonstrate a good understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
