Safeguarding & Child Protection

We place safeguarding at the heart of everything we do at Linthorpe School.  We recognise that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and we work hard to maintain a ‘Culture of Vigilance’ through training from Middlesbrough Local Authority and our Legacy Learning Trust Safeguarding Officer as as well as regular ‘in-house’ training and updates to ensure that keeping our children safe is our staff members’ highest priority.

We support our children’s understanding of keeping safe through our school vision, our wider curriculum and our bespoke Personal Development offer, ensuring that our pupils learn about strategies to keep themselves safe as well as the risks to be aware of in the modern world.

In addition, we use themed days to raise the profile of spotlight issues, including Anti-Bullying Week, Safer Internet Day and the NSPCC’s Speak Out, Stay Safe programme.  Through regular revisiting of themes and issues, we aim for our children to develop the appropriate strategies to keep themselves safe throughout their time at Linthorpe School and beyond.
