Linthorpe Community Primary School is a vibrant, inclusive and diverse primary school, where “everyone is equal, everyone is different, everyone is welcome and everyone achieves their best”. At LCPS, we operate a unique National Curriculum+ model where enrichment, opportunity and talent development meet academic rigour. A rich set of coherently planned experiences, trips and after school clubs enhance and supplement our bespoke curriculum offer. We call this National Curriculum + to reflect the extent to which the LCPS curriculum goes above and beyond the statutory requirements. Academic progress, personal development and character building are a continual focus for all staff and are at the core of all that we do.

Enrichment is a major strength of Linthorpe Primary School. At LCPS, every child has the chance to access enriching experiences, through a variety of ways including special events, themed curriculum days and family events to enrich our pupils’ lives and challenge them to aspire to be people who leave a mark on the world. Inspiring and knowledgeable visitors, sport, music, drama, art, community projects and educational visits all promote pupils’ spiritual, moral, social, cultural and personal development. Our residential and overnight visits for Year 5 and 6 pupils, where they enjoy adventurous team-building activities, help them develop confidence, resilience and independence.

Our school vision has been carefully considered (with our context at the heart) and co-constructed with all key stakeholders as a written representation of all we believe in, commit to, hope and strive for at LCPS. Each letter of Linthorpe signifies an aspect of our vision to encapsulate an overall promise of a welcoming, nurturing environment full of rich opportunities coupled with academic rigour and celebration of diversity. Our vision is brought to life each and every day by both staff and pupils and permeates all we do at LCPS. We measure our success against it and use it to make decisions for the future of the school.

After consultation, our LCPS vision was finalised with one representative from each group of school stakeholders.
